Stop the anchor alarm

iOSAndroidSafety

Safety-critical

This affects a safety feature. Read carefully and confirm the behavior on your own boat.

When the anchor alarm sounds, STOP silences the siren. Stop alerts on this phone silences this phone for the rest of the watch. RAISE ANCHOR ends the watch. Anchor alarms can't be snoozed.

Steps

  1. Tap STOP to silence the siren.
  2. Check your position on the map. Are you actually dragging, or did you just swing wide?
  3. If you're re-anchoring or leaving, tap RAISE ANCHOR to end the watch.

Warning: You can't snooze an anchor alarm; the snooze action is locked for safety. STOP only silences the siren: if the boat is still dragging, it can sound again. Only RAISE ANCHOR ends the watch.

Stop alerts on this phone

Use this when someone else is on watch and this phone should stay quiet. The button sits just above RAISE ANCHOR.

  1. Tap Stop alerts on this phone, then Stop alerts to confirm.
  2. This phone stops sounding and showing anchor alerts for this boat. That includes the drag alarm, GPS and signal notices, the leaving-the-anchorage alarm, and the neighbour or hazard alarm.
  3. The anchor screen shows Alerts stopped on this phone.
  4. To undo it, tap Resume alerts on this phone. If the boat is still dragging, the alarm sounds again.

It ends by itself when you raise the anchor, drop it again, or move it.

Note: The boat stays armed. Your GOAT device keeps watching and can still send its alerts to this phone, unless you turned its drag alerts off in Settings → Notifications. Without a GOAT device, nothing else is watching the boat while this phone is stopped.

Note: It affects this phone and this boat only. Your other phones, and anyone else's, keep alerting as normal.

Note: If the watch was set at the chartplotter, Quiet or RAISE ANCHOR there also reaches your phones on the boat Wi-Fi. STOP on the chartplotter only stops the flashing on the chartplotter. See Anchor watch on your chartplotter.
