Choose which alerts you get

iOSAndroid

You pick which alerts reach your phone in Settings → Notifications. Every notification SV.GOAT can show is listed there, either as a switch or under Always shown with the reason.

Anchor & safety (one section per boat)

  • Anchor dragging: escalates, then backs off
  • Position lost: no GPS while armed
  • Leaving the anchorage: then a siren if unanswered

These control the anchor notifications your GOAT device sends for that boat. If you turn one off, the anchor screen shows DRAG ALERTS ARE OFF so it can't be missed. Arming more than 150 m from the last anchor turns them back on.

Boat

  • Boat alarms: battery, wind, depth, tanks
  • Boat offline: while a watch is armed

Other

  • Weather: storms, forecasts
  • Voyage & tracking: voyage summaries
  • Friends nearby: never an alarm
  • Sail advice: reef and sail-change prompts

Lock screen

  • Anchor watch on lock screen: a quiet entry while a watch is armed. Alerts still come through. Turn it off to hide the entry.

Always shown

Not switchable here — each row says why and what stops it. These come from the anchor watch and background services on this phone, so the switches above don't control them. They include:

  • The phone's own drag alarm and GPS or contact alarms.
  • The no-signal, boat-internet and back-in-touch notices.
  • The leaving-the-anchorage notice.

Most stop with Stop alerts on this phone or when you raise the anchor.

Set them

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications.
  2. Turn each switch on or off.
  3. To choose differently for one boat, use Customize per boat. It covers Boat alarms, Weather, and Voyage & tracking.

Note: A switch changes what reaches this phone only. It doesn't change your other phones, anyone you share the boat with, or what your GOAT device watches.

Note: Even with a switch on, an alert reaches you away from the boat only if there's internet on both ends. See "Turn on push alerts".
