Turn on push alerts

Push alerts let SV.GOAT reach you when the app is closed — even when you're away from the boat. Turn them on once per phone.
Steps
- Open the app and, when prompted, Allow notifications. If you missed the prompt, enable notifications for SV.GOAT in your phone's system settings.
- Open Settings → Notifications in the app and check that the alert categories you care about are on.
- On Android, also allow the app to run in the background (turn off battery optimization for SV.GOAT) so alerts aren't killed while your phone sleeps.
Getting alerts when you're away
- To reach you off the boat, there needs to be internet on both ends — the boat's GOAT device online, and your phone online.
- With no internet, the boat still sounds its local alarm on board, but a push can't be delivered to a phone that's away.
Warning: On some Android phones, aggressive battery savers can stop background alerts. If alerts arrive late or not at all, exclude SV.GOAT from battery optimization.
