Replace or swap a GOAT device

iOSAndroid

Moving your boat to a new GOAT device — a replacement or an upgrade. Your boat, its config, thresholds, and history stay in your account, so the new device picks up where the old one left off.

Steps

  1. Owner only. On the old device, open Settings → GOAT Device → Device Management → Disconnect Device (in the Danger Zone). This factory-resets it, releases it from your boat, and cleans up its remote link.
  2. Set up the new device the normal way — Settings → GOAT Device → Setup New Device — and pair it to the same boat.
  3. Once it's online, your boat's settings and history are already there.

Note: Your boat and all its data live in your account, not on the device — swapping hardware doesn't lose them.

Warning: Disconnect Device only works while the old device is online — it's hidden if the device can't be reached. If the old device is dead, skip it and just set up the new one to the same boat; the new device registers and takes over. The dead device's old record stays behind harmlessly in the background — nothing you need to do; contact support if you ever want it tidied up.

Note: The boat's secure remote link is rebuilt on the new device. If remote access doesn't come back, re-enable Remote Monitoring.
