Manage your GOAT device
iOSAndroid
Everything you can do to your GOAT device lives on the Device Management screen — open Settings → GOAT Device → Device Management. These actions are owner-only (a shared boat shows "Owner access required").
What you can do
- Reboot Device — restart the device. Asks for your PIN.
- Shutdown Device — power it down safely. Asks for your PIN.
- Manage WiFi Networks — add, remove, or reorder the device's saved WiFi networks (shown only in WiFi mode).
- Direct Connect Mode — a toggle that switches the device between joining your boat WiFi and staying on its own hotspot.
- Configure VRM — link a Victron VRM account so battery and solar data flow through (shown as Update VRM Settings once configured).
- Chartplotter — the Chartplotter control switch (ON by default) lets the chartplotter at the helm drop, set and raise the anchor; turn it off to make the helm view-only. Below it, Chartplotter page shows the page's address on your network. See Anchor watch on your chartplotter.
- Edit IP — the pencil icon next to the device's address; update its address on your network (rarely needed).
- Factory Reset — wipe the device and re-raise its setup hotspot. Disconnect Device (in the Danger Zone) does the same and also releases it from your boat.
Note: Reboot, shutdown, factory reset, and disconnect each ask for your PIN before they run. Switching Direct Connect Mode does not.
Note: Enabling the boat's remote link (Remote Monitoring) is a separate, owner-only step — see the remote access article.
