The Performance Polar turns your boat's specs into a personalized speed chart, then coaches you in plain language — trim for Fast or for Comfort. The Performance Polar needs a GOAT device.
Steps
- Open Performance Polar from the More menu.
- Toggle between Fast (best speed / VMG) and Comfort (smoother motion) coaching.
- Read the coach card for what to do, why, and the trade-off; the polar chart shows your boat's target speeds.
Note: The polar and coach are deterministic — calculated from your boat's specs and live conditions, not AI. There are no invented headings; the same conditions always give the same advice. It's on-screen only and never sends notifications.
Note: If Polar shows "Set up your boat" or a "Generic polar" banner, fill in your boat's LWL, displacement, keel type, and hull type in Boat Configuration. The coach also needs true wind, which your GOAT device provides once it's set up.
