Captain Data-beard: ask your own AI about your boat

iOSAndroid

Captain Data-beard is a connector you add to your own Claude or ChatGPT. Once it is connected, ask about your boat in plain English. The answer comes from your boat's own data. It works without a GOAT device.

Set it up

  1. In the app, open More › Captain Data-beard.
  2. Tap Copy link. The link carries no password and no key.
  3. Add the link to Claude or ChatGPT. The screen shows the steps for each one.
  4. Sign in with your SV.GOAT account and approve read-only access.

Note: In Claude, use the web or desktop app. In ChatGPT, use a computer and turn on Developer mode first. The free version of ChatGPT does not have Developer mode.

What it can see

  • Only boats you own. Never a boat shared with you, and never a boat you follow.
  • Position, speed and heading, batteries and solar, tanks, and recent alarms.
  • Every answer says how old the data is. It reads the latest data your boat sent, not a live feed.

What it cannot do

  • It cannot arm or disarm the anchor watch.
  • It cannot change any setting, alarm or boat detail.
  • It is read-only. It can look, and nothing more.

Warning: Alarms raised on the phone, like an anchor watch running on the phone, a storm alarm or a card alarm, never reach Captain Data-beard. Always check the app for alarms.

Note: Captain Data-beard is a real AI assistant, unlike the Energy and Polar tools, which are fixed calculations. Treat its answers as guidance, not a substitute for your own judgment.
