The two PINs & “Keep me signed in”
iOSAndroidWeb
SV.GOAT uses two different PINs. They do different jobs — knowing which is which saves a lot of confusion.
How it works
- Account PIN — signs you into your SV.GOAT account. It's tied to you, works on any phone, and can be reset from the web dashboard. It even works with no internet, so you can sign in at sea.
- App-lock PIN — locks the app on this one phone. It protects your signed-in session on the device and never leaves it. Setting one is optional.
"Keep me signed in"
This toggle (on the Welcome screen and in Settings) decides whether you set an app-lock PIN:
- On — the app reopens straight to your dashboard, no PIN.
- Off — you set an app-lock PIN and enter it when you open the app.
Good to know
- Forgot your account PIN? Reset it from the web dashboard, then sign in with the new one. On the sign-in screen you can also tap Forgot your PIN? to get a recovery email.
- App-lock PIN safety: after 20 wrong attempts the app signs out to protect your data. Sign back in with your account PIN.
- No Face ID or fingerprint. SV.GOAT doesn't use biometric unlock — only PINs.
Warning: If you forget your app-lock PIN, there's no way to bypass it on the phone. Signing out and back in with your account PIN clears it.
