Voyages record automatically
iOSAndroid
There's no "start voyage" button — your GOAT device records voyages for you. It starts a voyage when you get underway and ends it once you've stopped or anchored.
How it works
- Starts on its own. When the boat begins moving, a new voyage opens and starts logging your track.
- Ends on its own. When you've been stopped for a while, or when you drop anchor, the voyage closes.
- An anchorage is its own voyage. Time spent at anchor is recorded as a separate entry, never merged into the sail before or after it.
- You can end one early. On the Position Map you can tap End Voyage to close the current one manually — but you never need to start one.
Note: Because detection is automatic, a very short hop or a slow drift around the mooring may not open a full voyage. Your track still records; the voyage grouping just reflects real passages.
